Things are going better than expected in The Great Intern Competition (summer edition). We have two stand out candidates that I am about to email and assign them their clients and campaigns that they will have to pitch for the final portion of the competition on Monday May 13.
First is Maddi’s entry. She goes to West Virginia, but is from Charleston.
Second is Peyton who is a recent pre-med turned communications major at College of Charleston.
Read their entries, and if you think you have what it takes to beat them and become our next great intern, then head over to our original post to find out how you can enter the competition.
My business partner and I have had some really great, and really not-so-great, intern submissions these past few weeks. This made us think outside the box and come up with a different solution than the typical submit your resume, do a phone interview, etc…after all, anyone can bullshit a resume, but they can’t fake creativity and leadership. After brainstorming on ways to find the BEST OF THE BEST summer 2013 intern we came up with The Great Intern Competition (Summer Edition).
Every person that wants to set up an interview date, will first have to go to our Facebook page and write on our wall what they will bring to the table at our agency if selected for the position? We don’t want to see resumes, just honest, detailed responses (do not email us your resume at this time). This isn’t for the shy and timid since the other interns will be able to see your answers…but being a leader and submitting first may pay off.
After we review the submissions (which have to be in by Friday, May 10, 2013), We will select the best applicants to move forward with an in-person interview. The in-person interview will be asked to do a two minute pitch with question and answer to follow for a client campaign that we assign you.
The payoff is a chance to work side-by-side with managing partners and work on national and local marketing campaigns. Learn in a one-on-one environment about social media for business, press release writing, event coordination, graphic design, and more.
Think you’ve got what it takes to win The Great Intern Competition (Summer Edition)? Then head over to our Facebook page and prove it.
